Vagabond Of The Void

A metaphorical poem that explores the psychological pain through the plight of a sailor strangled in the midst of a sea

————

I lay passively on a seasoned ark,

Adrift the prosaic brine,

Restrained by the chains of chaos,

Void of defense and deposed.

Where shores never endure genesis;

And the waters claim eternity,

And the sky naught but an enshrouded corpse

Of visions, glories and vacuous dreams.

I lay beneath the flames of agony,

Witnessing the awakening alive.

Vivid vistas of behemoth vice

Vehemently bleeding my eyes.

I hear no more the Chronos’s stride;

Nor feel the pyre breathe

As remnant marks of childhood sobs

Die an ember’s death.

The timeless void of reason

Was not a flaw of my creation;

Nor a sequel of my disposition,

But a narrative I am hauled into:

Tussling a phantasm void of form

To be perpetually consumed.
